The Skandagiri Commune is fundamentally about individual and people, about the evolutionary potential in the human race to outgrow itself and grow in a higher mold of his or her consciousness. It is about realizing abilities, capacities or faculties which are inherent in the human constitution and bringing it to work and life. In many ways it is a will to change and transform oneself, to take part in this evolutionary journey of self- exceeding and self-perfection.

Conscious futures is about exploring alternate perspectives to the ever facing personal and collective crisis that we face, it is about thinking-it is about aligning how we think with how the real world works, it is about re-examining our approach to knowledge, education and learning. Conscious futures is about imagining and creating the kind of future we want to live in, a future which is a result of our conscious thinking and not a consequence of our conditioned ideas, beliefs and approximations. Creating conscious futures is to dissolve our mental models.

This is a new paradigm that accommodates a more holistic, integral, and conscious approach to basically all problems and challenges of the world and towards the growth of consciousness of the individual.

This paradigm is needed to chart out new ways and alternatives to emerge out of the current existential and identity crisis that we find ourselves in. This new thinking and orientation are needed so that educational institutes, corporate, professionals, individuals, families can better align with how we think as to how the real-world works. The world works with systems, made up of parts that interact together and thereby creates a whole which produces results with enormous impact.
The Skandagiri Commune addresses the fundamental problem of perception
Our thinking is linear (ignoring non-linearity that the world is made up of), it is focused on parts (to the exclusion of the whole), focused on fixed structures (oblivious of dynamic and ever-changing relationships), based on pairs (rather than divergent states). This results in crisis (inability to respond to a situation or situations). The Skandagiri Commune addresses the fundamental problem of perception, how we look at the world the way it is not how we make it to be. This perception is important if we are to find solutions to the challenges that we face.

The core of The Skandagiri Commune is to effectuate a radical change in the way human being live on earth. A constant aspiration for an inner change and renewal will then be a guiding philosophy for all those who would and shall be associated with The Skandagiri Commune.

Ekãgratã Sãmavadã
Ekãgratã Samavada (undisturbed, one-pointed interaction) is an exchange of ideas, stories, experiences and insights on issues and challenges related to education, learning, school and schooling. With distinguished participants, these events are consistently created for deep reflection and conversation around questions that matter. The Ekagrata Samavada is not a training session nor is it a typical conference. It is both personal and substantive in the way that only deep conversation among peers can be.
